Making a iPod Custom Boot Logo
This tutorial will show you how to make your own custom boot logo for your iPod/iPhone. The boot logo will be very basic and a little time consuming but do not have to be transparent as other tutorials say. First you should decide if you want the apple logo to fade out and fade in to your image or morph into your image. Remember them as method 1 and method 2.
Requirements:
-Game Maker 8 or up
-Apple's original boot logo
-Image you want as your logo ( 320 x 480 or 640 x 960 )
-SSH client (WinSCP for windows, Fugo for mac)
-Jailbroken iPod/iPhone on 4.2.1+
-Greenpois0n animate tool (available on cydia)
Method 1:
1. Open up Game Maker and import Apple's original boot logo and your custom image as a sprite
2. Double click on apple's boot logo and click "Edit".
3. In the new window, click on the animation tab and click on "Fade to Color".
4. Set the color as black and number of images to 5
5. You will now see five images. Save the image by clicking the little floppy disk so you can use it later. It doesn't matter what it is called, just remember where it is.
6. Exit the sprite editor and open up your custom image
7. Now go to the animation tab and click on "Fade to Color". Set the color to black and number of frames to 5
8. This should be like the one you did before. Instead of saving it, go to the animation tab and click "Reverse". This will rearrange the order of the images.
9. Now you can save the file just like you did before.
10. Exit the sprite editor and create a new sprite in Game Maker and name it
"My Boot Logo"
11. Open up the sprite editor and import your first animation sprite (The one of the Apple Logo fading to black) by clicking the folder with the green plus icon.
12. Once you have your sprite imported, import the other one (Your boot logo fading in from black)
13. You should now have 10 images. Go to image number 5
(one of the black ones) and delete it as you should have 2.
14. Now you are ready to save your boot logo. First, create an new folder some where and call it "My Boot Logo". This is where your boot logo images will go.
15. Second, double click on Image 0 in Game Maker. In the new window, click the save button (purple floppy disk icon) and save it in your Boot Logo folder. Make sure it's called "0.png"
16. Go to the next image by clicking the green arrow facing right
